Dr. Surabhi Khanna is a board-certified rheumatologist who has been in rheumatology practice since 2010. She did her IM residency in Baltimore and did research in rheumatology at Johns Hopkins University. She finished her rheumatology training at one of the top-ranked programs in the country at the University of Pittsburgh. During this, she had the unique experience of being involved with specialized centers.
She then joined as a Faculty at the University of Cincinnati (UC), was involved in various clinical, educational, and research programs, and became an Associate professor of Medicine.
She was the founder and director of the Scleroderma Center and co-director of the CTD-ILD (connective tissue disease-associated interstitial lung disease) Program at UC.
As the scleroderma director, she established herself as the regional expert for the tristate area for Scleroderma. She established the Scleroderma Center, which was recognized by the Scleroderma Clinical Trial Consortium and the Scleroderma Foundation. She was involved in scleroderma-focused research and established an endowment to further the training/management of scleroderma in the area.
As co-director of the CTD-ILD program, she worked together with Pulmonary Medicine and established a unique care model to manage complex rheumatological patients with the involvement of lungs. She moved to San Diego in 2021 to call this her home but continued her work at UC until Jan 2023.
Dr. Surabhi Khanna has now founded Arthritis and Rheumatology Clinic (ARC) San Diego with the goal to improve and provide access to care with excellence in Arthritis and Rheumatology disease management in our communities.
To serve her communities to the fullest, Dr. Khanna is one of the few community rheumatologists who also does inpatient consults for new and her practice patients when admitted within Sharp Hospitals.
In her free time, she loves to be outdoors or with her three kids and husband.
